Mansfield, Louisiana and all of DeSoto Parish has been proudly represented by our dealership for more than 75 years. The dealership was founded and operated for many years by the Lowrey family.
In the 1980's the dealership was sold to Jack Harper, a businessman in south Louisiana. Understanding that the dealership was difficult to operate via long distance, Mr. Harper sold the dealership to James Lynch and his partner Jimmy Granger.
Hard to believe that it was 35 years ago that Mansfield Auto World was formed in early 1990 and shortly after became the GM franchisee for DeSoto Parish in 1991. Our 35-year history starts there and continues with tremendous milestones along the way including our most notable growth to our 25,000 square-foot facility in Stonewall, Louisiana in 2015. It was at this time that Mansfield Auto World became Marketplace Chevrolet and also awarded additional market coverage as the GM franchisee for Red River Parish. The Stonewall location is immediately off the I-49 Stonewall Exit providing an interstate connection essential for travel convenience of all target markets, helping make the dealership more accessible with the market expansion to the east.
The 6-acre campus features full-service facilities including an extensive after-sales department for service, parts and accessories and a full inventory of over 400 new and pre-owned cars, trucks and SUV's.
"James and I have always been very hands-on and available to our customers, serving our customers as we would want to be served. Our business mantra focuses on a high level of customer care in every facet of the operations. The facility offers more advanced technology and resources allowing our team to continuously improve each customers' overall experience. All measures are also taken to provide the most productive and rewarding environment for our employees. We have seen our team members start families, their kids start and finish school, get married and bring home grandchildren - a full circle of life where we are a part of the journey," explained John Adams, General Manager/Owner.
"At Marketplace Chevrolet , John and I are not absentee owners; we are a family-owned business and we work diligently with our team day in and out. I welcome you to walk into our store or even our offices and meet the family anytime. We are here because of you and for you," James Lynch, Principle/Owner.
More recently, Daryl Lynch, who has been working in the dealership for many years from service to parts to fixed operations, has now joined the ownership ranks. "That family-owned, hands-on ownership and management style very much remains the company mantra and I plan to continue that legacy. Customer-centric focus throughout the dealership departments is what continues to move us forward in a competitive landscape, and we appreciate our Marketplace family of customers," said Lynch.
The dealership was founded and operated for many years by the Lowrey family, until the 1980's when it was sold to Jack Harper, a businessman in South Louisiana who operated remotely for a short time before selling to James Lynch. James had been in the automotive business since 1980, and a partner in the Ford Dealership in Mansfield with Jimmy Granger. As business grew, Lynch sold his interest in the Ford dealership in the early 90's and brought on John Adams as his partner in the GM dealership.
Mansfield Auto World was formed in July 1990 and began operating as the GM Superstore for Chevrolet Oldsmobile and Pontiac. In 1991, GM appointed the dealership as franchisee for DeSoto Parish and so it was for 24 years. In 2015, Mansfield Auto World became Marketplace Chevrolet in Stonewall, Louisiana; and the dealership now celebrates five years in the new location. The dealership is still owned by the Lynch and Adams families and proudly represents Chevrolet. The dealership's current customer influence can be tracked from Natchitoches to Logansport, Zwolle and Mansfield; eastward expansion to Red River Parish communities and all the way north to Shreveport
